little history for you: Our Egyptian Chamomile contains an exceptionally high content of essential oils. It was used by ancient Egyptians, Romans & Greeks to cure a number of ailments.
What's in it? - Chamomile is a great anti-inflammatory perfect for hypersensitive skin, broken veins & puffiness. - Strengthens skin & scalp tissue. - Reduces swelling & pain of the skin & mucous membranes. (excellent for eczema, skin rashes, acne, excessive acne, rosacea & allergic reactions). - Brightens highlights in hair when used in a shampoo or as an herbal hair rinse. Chamomile is a clinically proven anti-allergenic herb that gives off an abundant amount of mucilage, which softens and soothes everything it touches.
Uses: - Hair spritz (see recipe below) - Baths (after a hard day, simply sprinkle, get in & relax) - For Acne (used as a facial spritzer or infused with Golden Jojoba Oil) - In an ice cold or hot compress to relieve achy and swollen muscles.
There is an extremely large list of uses for Chamomile try it in a herbal hair spritz or infuse it with some water and then rub it on your skin. You will feel the difference.
Chamomile Flower Infusion Making an infusion is just like making a cup of tea. Take a heaped teaspoon of Chamomile and put it in a big ol' mug or Pyrex jug. Boil 100ml of water Pour the hot water over the Chamomile and cover Let it brew for at least a few minutes Strain - so that you only have the nourishing infused tea. Pour the strained infused tea into a spray bottle or use as a final rinse on freshly washed hair.
Chamomile & Vegetable Glycerin Hair Spritz Follow the same instructions as above but add: - 1 teaspoon of Vegetable Glycerin or honey (both are great hair & skin humectants) and/or - Add half a teaspoon of flaxseeds to the herbs in the cup and pour the boiling water over top. - Strain the chamomile & flaxseeds and pour the left over liquid into a dark glass, spray bottle.
Chamomile infusions are GREAT for spritzing Locs, soften hair, as a scalp cleanser or adding a nice soft floral scent. Herbal rinse infusions provide excellent slip and detangles naturally curly hair, instantly.
Be sure to use your infusion within 2 days and store in a dark, cool, dry place.
